PhysXforQuest is a plug-in for Quest3D that gives developers access to NVIDIA's
PhysX™ capabilities. The core functionality of PhysX™ has been implemented providing
access to the powerful, feature rich, robust and proven capabilities of this physics
system.
You can use PhysXforQuest with Quest3D and NVIDIA PhysX™ for general gaming/3D/simulation,
or for specific targeted 3D projects where you want to take advantage of the features
of PhysX™ and especially the PhysX Accelerator™.
The PhysX Accelerator™ is the currently only physics processing unit to run physics
in hardware. This massively increases the ability of the PC to operate higher
detail scenes, by allowing more resources for the CPU to do its job and offloading
physics tasks to hardware that is optimised for physics intensive computations.
PhysXforQuest provides the channels and various channel interface dialogue to allow
a Quest3D author to create physics objects, and apply an extensive range of commands
to meet most physics demands.
Included in this release will be:
- Channels (162 unqiue Quest3D channel implemented so far!)
- Dialogues for specific channels to allow value entry during the authoring phase
(more to be added in later version)
- Helpers and some enhanced channels ( for example: rapid box collision creation)
- Various templates
- Samples and demos to learn from and get you up and running
- User Help documentation for the channels, commands and physics
Exciting, Amazing and Powerful Physics Features: Accelerate Your Quest3D Physics
- A full range of rigid body collision shapes and joints
- Character controller
- Soft body
- Fluids
- Cloth
- Heightfeilds
- Plus, the ability to operate physics in hardware using the PhysX Accelerator™
PhysXforQuest is royalty free to use in all commercial applications you develop using Quest3D.
